“Sergüzeşt” (sear-gheu-zesht) means “adventure” in Persian: the hotel is named after the thought that every time we go out, everything we see on the way, everyone we meet at the hotel and all that we go through are in fact, adventures.
Owners, Hale and Hakan Aydın bought a rundown Greek mansion in 2014 and turned it into the hotel of their dreams.
And “Sergüzeşt Otel” came about. They wanted their son to be able to grown in Büyükada, where Hakan Aydın spent his childhood days.
They care for every single detail personally.
The hotel features 10 guest rooms in a three storey building.
Kerim Kürkçü, the architect of the hotel, reinterpreted the interiors in a modern and eclectic style that conserve the original elements in the building.
As the coolness of metal is balanced by the warmth of wood, comfort and spaciousness are stressed in the guest rooms.
In short, unlike the rest of Büyükada (Prinkipo) hotels, they preferred to embellish the traditional with modern touches.
As you can see, small but important details are not forgotten.
If you’d like to have an even more exclusive experience at the Sergüzeşt Otel, ask for the top suite.
You can have the best breakfast with a scenery right from the balcony of your own room.
But if you’d like to get out, the breakfast buffet downstairs awaits you (- breakfast here is reason enough to visit the hotel, even if you’re not going to spend the night.)
At the Sermest Cafe where breakfast is served, tea, coffee and snacks are available all day long. The menu is updated seasonally.
And if you feel like feeling the sun on your face, just sit at the garden.
